CROWDS SEE RELIGIOUS FILMS

The Rev. H. Brooke, Methodist minister of Southsea, who is showing religious films very Sunday, appealed to members of his congregation recently not to attend the film services, states a London exchange. Hundreds of people are coming to see the films, and there is not room to accommodate them in the church hall. “The idea now is that the film services shall act as a half-way house between those who normally take an interest in religion and those who do not.

"I do not aim at increasing my own congregation every Sunday, although this has happened, but my ambition is to make people take a greater interest in religion, irrespective of what church they belong to.”
