SUPERANNUATION AND HEALTH SCHEMES
CONSIDERATION IN NEW YEAR (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 21. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) said today that the first task of the Cabinet in the New Year would be the consideration of the national health and superannuation schemes, which would be got into shape by two or three Ministers. “There are people in this country who think it cannot be done,” he said. “I say it can. I do not suppose we will reach our objective immediately, though we will make a substantial beginning and go further ahead than New Zealand ever has known. There was a great transformation when New Zealand brought in old age pensions and we will have a still greater one now.”
