Little Change Shown On Share Market Conditions on the Invercargill Stock Exchange yesterday morning showed little change. Banks were steady with limited inquiry, and Australian banking shares were quiet. Frozen meat companies’ shares were inclined to be dull, although there was inquiry for Southland Frozen Meats. Woollen and shipping shares were not inquired after to any extent. The inquiry for mining shares was confined to the Australian section and there appears to be a firming tendency for base metal companies’ shares.

SYDNEY (Received December 20, 9.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 20. The more confident sentiment reported to exist in the overseas market was reflected in a stronger undertone on the Sydney Stock Exchange today. The volume of business was also much greater than in past weeks and general steadiness characterized the market.

COMPANY NEWS TALISMAN DUBBO Talisman Dubbo Gold Mines, Ltd., is offering shareholders an issue of 11,620 contributing shares of 5/- each at par in the proportion of one nevz share for every five shares held as at December 17. The Mataki return for the week ended December 19 was 28oz for 137 hours’ work and 10,400 yards. DUNEDIN WOOL SALE GROWERS DISINCLINED TO MEET MARKET The disinclination of Otago wool growers to meet the market, although it has risen within the past month, is indicated by the failure to meet the allocation of 28,000 bales for the first Dunedin sale today. The offering will be more than 20 per cent, less tha:i the quantity auctioned in December last, not even the brokers’ estimate of total catalogues of 25,000 having been reached.
