(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright)

(Received December 10, 6.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 10.

After a bitter debate in the Legislative Assembly on the disposal by the Government of State moneys from pipe works, State brickworks, and State metal quarries in which Mr J. T. Lang alleged fraud and corruption on the part of the Government, the Premier of New South Wales (Mr B. S. B. Stevens) said he would appoint a Royal Commission to inquire into the charges if Mr Lang would give evidence. Mr Lang accepted the challenge and said he would welcome a Royal Commission. The matter arises from a bitter controversy in which it was alleged that soon after the Government disposed of State works the prices of the material they produced rose sharply. In the early hours of the morning the Minister of Local Government, Mr E. S. Spooner, introduced a Bill to provide for the constitution of boards to determine fair and reasonable prices for the products of the above-mention-ed undertakings.
