DRYBURGH SCHOOL

BREAK-UP CEREMONY HELD YESTERDAY Many parents and friends were present at the break-up ceremony of the Dryburgh school yesterday afternoon, when a programme of songs, recitations and dances was given by the pupils under the direction of the teacher, Miss Holdsworth. Mr W. Grieve, of the Waihopai School Committee, welcomed the visitors and introduced Mr S. Rice, chairman of the Southland Education Board, who presented the prizes. Christmas gifts from Mrs McEwan and Mr Rice were also given to the children. After an inspection and sale of tne attractive handwork articles made by the pupils, afternoon tea was served.
