MARRIAGE AS RESULT OF ADVERTISEMENT
APPLICATION FOR RESTITUTION OF CONJUGAL RIGHTS REFUSED (United Press Association) HAMILTON, December 8. On the ground that it obviously had been sought only as a short cut to divorce an application for an order granting the restitution of conjugal rights to Alexander Hewson, farmer, of Cambridge, against Agnes Florence Hewson, was dismissed by Mr Justice Callan in the Supreme Court today. “Though I am sorry for these people, I cannot grant the application,” said his Honour, “for it is apparent they are just trying to take a short cut to divorce. The only inference that can be drawn from the letters to one another is that, realizing a stupid mistake in marrying, they evolved this method of securing a divorce.” It was shown the parties married as the result of an advertisement
