The second round of the Victorian tennis championships produced some surprises. The holders of the doubles title, A. K. Quist and D. P. Turnbull, were defeated by juniors, J. Gilchrist and H. Lindo, in five sets. In the women’s singles, Miss J. Stevenson defeated the American, Miss Dorothy Workman, with the loss of only two games. Misses Workman and Dorothy Bundy (United States) were defeated in the women’s doubles by Misses Stevenson and K. Blick.

J. D. Budge and C. G. Mako (United States) and the leading Australians won their singles matches comfortably. The results of the quarter-finals in eluded:—
