RADIO PROPAGANDA FROM EUROPE
UNITED STATES WATCHING LATIN AMERICA . (Received December 7, 10.50 p.m.) WASHINGTON, December 7. Ostensibly referring to regular wireless broadcasts to Latin America from the fascist and communist countries of Europe, which are known to be causing concern to officials, the Under-Secretary of State (Mr Sumerer Welles) in an address inveighed against alien propaganda and strongly reaffirmed the Monroe Doctrine. “Any attempt on the part of nonAmerican Powers to exert through force their political or material influence on the American continents will immediately be a matter of the gravest concern not only to the United States but to every other American republic, and appropriate action will immediately be determined as the result of consultation among them,” said Mr Welles.
