Mr C. J. Martin, general manager of Sargood, Son and Ewen Ltd., Dunedin, arrived in Invercargill by car yesterday for a brief visit. Mr W. G. V. Fernie, of Christchurch, general manager of the Calder Mackay Co., Ltd., is visiting Invercargill and is staying at the Grand Hotel.
Mr G. K. Ryder, who has been acting manager of the Bank of Australasia, Invercargill, since July last, has now been appointed manager. Messrs R- Shepherd, P. G. Ward, E. Armitage and H. W. Hunter (Dunedin), and R. W. Brookman and A. R. Wright (Wellington) are at the Grand Hotel. The Anglican Bishop of Dunedin (the Rt. Rev. W. A. R. Fitchett) will visit Winton by car today to conduct a service to institute the Rev. W. L. F. Harbour as vicar of the Winton parochial district. Messrs H. Graham, J. Witchell, H. Eckhoff, S. Lawson, W. Brosnan and C. Jarvis (Dunedin), F. S. Corrick and L. Hilton (Christchurch) and W. M. Hall and T. C. McPhail (Wellington) are at the Club Hotel.
