BOOT REPAIRER SENT TO PRISON

INTOXICATED IN CHARGE OF A CAR (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, December 6. Joseph Robinson, a boot repairer, aged 32 years, was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment by Mr E. C. Lewey, S.M., this morning on a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a car. He was declared unfit to hold a licence for four years. This was his second offence. , . , , The Magistrate said that he had been considering imposing imprisomnent terms on first offenders without the option of a fine. “Other magistrates have done so,” he said, “and I am considering following their example. When a man has had one warning chooses to continue he cannot be dealt with leniently.”
