MAIL ROBBERIES IN UNITED STATES
AUTHORITIES PERTURBED BY FREQUENCY
(Received December 5, 6.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, December 4.
The postal authorities have revealed the theft of 16 pouches of registered mail from a truck on Thursday. Fishermen hooked five empty pouches from the harbour. The value of the loss is not disclosed, but it is variously estimated at over 2,000,000 dollars. The authorities are disturbed over the recent large number of mail robberies throughout the country.
