INFANT VICTIMS OF UNUSUAL DISEASE
10 BABIES DIE OF TOXIC POISONING (Received December 5, 7.5 p.m.) CHICAGO, December 4. The deaths of 10 infants in 10 days from an unidentified disease characterized by acute inflammation of the intestinal tract with intense toxic poisoning, usually fatal in 24 hours, has resulted in the shutting down of the obsterical ward at St. Elizabeth’s hospital. Several other babies are still critically ill.
