COMMENCING AT 2 PM. Welcome to gathering by the Mayor of Mataura, Mr John Buchanan. Handing over to Mataura Borough Council (as trustees) of the 32-acre Maori Centenary Reserve by Mr John Topi Patuki, on behalf of the Maori owners.
Acknowledgement by the Mayor of Mataura. Presentation by Mr R. Waitiri of a Maori mat to the secretary of the Tuturau Maori Raid Centenary Committee, Mr W. N. Dunnage. Entertainment by the Maoris. Unveiling of monument by the acting Minister of Native Affairs (the' Hon F. Langstone). Addresses by members of Parliament. Afternoon tea adjournment. Dedication ceremony by Maoris in connection with the official opening of the carved Maori House. Addresses by members of local bodies. Centenary dance in the
Horticultural Hall in the evening and items by Maori party.
