Letters sent to the Editor for printing must be written in ink on one side of the paper only and writers must send in their names and addresses in full whether they wish these to be printed or not. When a pen-name is used, the writer should sign his real name on a separate sheet or at the foot of his letter, where it can be cut off before the letter passes out of the Editor’s hands. Writers must say clearly whether or not their letters are being, or have been, sent to other papers. The Editor cannot return or keep any letter which, for any reason, is unsuitable for printing, nor can he acknowledge unsuitable letters, although this will be done where it seems to be needful, or enter into any correspondence about letters sent in. THE MUSEUM PROJECT To The Editor Sir, —As further impetus will be given to the Southland Museum project by the address to be given on Monday night by Mr R. A. Falla, MA, on “The Museum and the Community,” I suggest that the following point of view is worthy of serious consideration. The soundest and surest way of successfully launching the museum project' would be, first of all, to call a meeting of representatives of the trustees of estates, such as the Thompson estate, the MacKinnon Trust, etc.; and also representatives of the old Southland families who surely would be interested in a museum and who would support it financially. This meeting should discuss the formation of a Southland Museum Trust. By this means, the people who are most likely to give the greatest financial support would then rightly feel that they were backing a project in the management of which they at least had some say. Based upon such a sound procedure as this, I am sure financial support, far beyond expectations, would be forthcoming, and with a Government subsidy a museum worthy of this province of ours could be built and maintained, for all time, without financial embarrassment, and without the support of uninterested local bodies.—Yours, etc., PRO BONO PUBLICO. October 30, 1937.
