THREE ROYAL TOURS IN BRITAIN

KING AND QUEEN VISIT YORKSHIRE (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, October 19. The King and Queen, beginning their tour of Yorkshire, arrived at Hull, where they received a great welcome. After lunching at the Guildhall they left for York, where they were met by the Princess Royal and the Earl of Harewood, who is Lord Lieutenant ot the West Riding. A large crowd gave their Majesties an enthusiastic welcome. After a visit to a factory where they saw the different processes in the manufacture of chocolates, their Majesties had tea with the Lord Mayor at the Mansion House and subsequently left for Harewood House, where they are staying tonight. Two other Royal visits began xoday. The streets of Devonport were lined with cheering people when the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester arrived after their tour of Cornwall and Devon in time for luncheon at Admiralty House, given by the Commander-in-Chief. Afterwards the Duchess launched the 5300-ton cruiser Gloucester. The Duchess later opened an extension to a maternity nurses’ home. Tomorrow the Duke lays the foundation stone of a library block at the University College at Exeter. The Duke and Duchess of Kent began a two-day tour of South Wales by visiting Carmarthen, where the Duke laid the foundation stone of extensions to Trinity College and the Duchess opened a new wing, comprising maternity and general wards, at the county infirmary. They later reached Swansea, where the Duke was installed as Chancellor of the University of Wales. The Duke proceeds on Thursday to Blackpool, where he names a new motor lifeboat of the National Lifeboat Institution, of v'hich he is president
