Powdered starch rubbed over walls with a soft cloth will remove stains. In houses where the wall behind the sink or hand-bowl has not been tiled a sheet of linoleum will form an excellent substitute, especially if it possesses a tiled pattern. Fix it to the walls by means of nails provided with ornamental brass heads.
