MISHAP AT COAL MINE
PART OF FLUMING THROWN INTO SEA (United Press Association) WESTPORT, September 17. A mishap occurred at the Brighton coal mine this afternoon when a casting broke causing a cable supporting one side of the fluming crossing from the mainland to the island to fall and throwing part of the fluming into the sea. A start is to be made on the repair work immediately and it is hoped that by the time the 300 tons on the island are shipped the fluming will be restored to its former position.
