WILLIAMS BEATS TANNER IN FINAL (Received September 17, 12.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, September 16. In the final of the amateur golf championship of Australia H. L. Williams (Victoria) beat T. Tanner (New Soutji Wales), 1 up. A feature of the play was Tanner’s plucky fight. He was 4 down at the 27th and then played brilliantly but could not get ahead. His opponent at times played masterly golf.
