THE RETURNED SOLDIERS SOUTHERN DISTRICT REUNION The annual reunion of the Southern District Returned Soldiers’ Sub-As-sociation was held in the Quarry Hills hall recently. The chairman, Mr G. Wardle, welcomed those present and thanked the visitors from Fortrose, Invercargill and Bluff for their attendance.

Mr G. J. McDonald was toastmaster and the evening was spent with items, speeches and toasts. The following toasts were honoured: — “Fallen Comrades” (proposed by Mr J. G. McDonald); “The Visitors” (proposed by Mr C. H. Lamb and responded to by Messrs A. Wachner and W. Braxton); “New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association” (Mr J. G. Mc-Donald-Mr H.
