WRECKAGE OF SEAPLANE FOUND
NO TRACE OF PILOT’S BODY (Received August 24, 6.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, August 24. The seaplane in which Yde and Houston, two air force cadets, lost their lives on July 28 was discovered lying in 30ft of water two miles from Point Cook. When it was raised there was no trace of Yde’s body. The wreckage showed that the plane nose-dived with terrific force. The engine was driven into the front cockpit, where Yde was sitting. |
