THE SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS C GRADE EVENTS BEGIN THIS EVENING. The South Island badminton championship tournament will be held in the Zealandia Hall next week, but so numerous are the entries that the C grade events have to be decided beforehand and the three events in this competition will begin this evening at 7 o’clock. The country districts will be well represented in the tournament, for players from Thornbury, Waianiwa Kennington, Wallacetown, Winton, Rimu and Makarewa are competing. More than 300 entries have been received for the championship and open handicap events of the main tournament beginning on Monday evening. A good team from Dunedin will take part in the tournament.
