EXHIBITION AT TORONTO
NEW ZEALAND AGAIN TO BE REPRESENTED
(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 16.
For the eighth year in succession New Zealand will be represented at this year’s Canadian National Exhibition opening at Toronto on August 22. The Government has authorized a comprehensive exhibit displaying the resources and tourist attractions of the Dominion and the necessary arrangements for New Zealand’s participation m the exhibition are now being made by the Department of Industries and Commerce. The attractiveness of the New Zealand court has always been the subject of much favourable comment from visitors to the exhibition, which is one of the largest of its kind in the world. A representative display of Do-minion-made products will again be exhibited. The New Zealand Trade and Tourist Commissioner in Canada (Mr J. W. Collins) has a certain amount of material on hand suitable for inclusion in the court representative of the Dominion but this is being augmented by supplies from New Zealand, some of which have already been sent to Toronto. Arrangements are being made for the despatch of a range of manufactured articles, including floor rugs, travelling rugs and other manufactured articles for which it might be possible to develop a market in Canada. Supplies of new posters, up-to-date camera studies, and the latest publicity material are also being despatched as well as other exhibits with a more direct appeal to sportsmen. Two of the photographs forwarded each measure lift by Bft. One is of a Maori pa with a cut-out weaving scene and the other of Milfor Sound. ■
