CHEESE FACTORY DELEGATES
IMPORTANT MATTERS DISCUSSED

PALMERSTON NORTH, June 16. Several matters of importance to the cheese industry were discussed at a conference of factory delegates representing the Taranaki, Manawatu, Hawkes Bay, Bush and Wairarapa districts. The following resolution was carried: “That this meeting requests the Government to honour its promise to cheese companies for the past season by giving them a price for cheese to enable the average cheese company for the past season to pay out ljd a lb more than that now paid out by the average butter companies.” A motion was also carried recommending that the basic price be on the 914-92 grading, cheese of 924 grade to get 7d premium and of 93 grade to get 1/2. A motion was also carried approving the shrinkage on waxed cheese being set down at 1| per cent.
