When copying knitting patterns remember to work into the back of all cast-on stitches to produce firm edges. Brooms and brushes will not mark the furniture and paintwork if a piece of rubber beading is fixed at the ends above the bristles. Nails with rounded heads should be used as they will not cut the rubber.
