This scarf covers the whole opening formed by a suit or coat. It is very easy to make and consists of nothing but a perfectly straight piece of silk forty inches long and between sixteen and twenty inches wide. Hem the material all the way round. To both corners of the one end attach a piece of ribbon twenty inches in length. The scarf is now finished and is to be put on as follows: 1. Tie the two ribbons around the waist like an apron. 2. Put the scarf around the neck 3 Loop it through the front part. 4. The scarf is now tied, and a pin keeps the short end in place.
