GOOD READING IN JUNE NUMBER The June number of The Railways Magazine contains a fund of good reading matter. O. N. Gillespie’s fertile pen describes Hamilton—“the Empire’s dairy capital”—as well as the amusing adventures of that super-sleuth Impskill Lloyd, who is still following the mystery of the “thirteenth clue.” Central Otago’s “old days of gold” come again to life in the graceful prose of Robin Hyde and James Cowan continues his series about the lives of famous New Zealanders with an unusually interesting study of the life of Lord Rutherford, the distinguished scientist. Ken Alexander continues to be as amusing as ever in his portrayal of the eccentricities of everyday life and there is food for thought for everyone in the various special articles by well-known New Zealand writers. Handsome illustrations enhance the value of the magazine,
