HILL—DUNCAN

In St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Gore, the wedding was recently solemnized of Elsie Helen, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Duncan, Argyle street, Mataura, and Horace James, only son of Mrs W. Hill, Albany street, Gore. The church was decorated for the occasion by Mr W. Martin, Mataura. The Rev. Frazer Barton performed the ceremony, and Mr Hillsdon Hutton presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore an ankle-length frock of peach-glow needle-run lace, made with full bishop sleeves, and cowl neck line; the bodice being finished with a row of tiny velvet buttons down the back. With it was worn a crinoline hat trimmed with a matching velvet bow, and she wore velvet shoes to tone. Her shower bouquet was of roses, lilies and maidenhair fern.

The bridesmaid, Miss Marie Clark, wore an ankle-length frock of tur-quoise-blue lace, made with short puffed sleeves, and finished at the waistline with a velvet sash of a deeper blue. Her blue crinoline hat was trimmed with a velvet ribbon to tone with her sash and she wore velvet sandals. She carried a bouquet of pink and blue hydrangeas and begonias tied with blue satin streamers. Mr F. J. Quilter carried out the duties of best man. During the signing of the register, Mrs Hubener sang “A Song of Thanksgiving.” After the ceremony, a reception was held in the Cosy Tea Rooms, where the guests were received by Mrs Duncan and Mrs Hill, the former wearing a frock of Coronation-blue suede marocan with lace sleeves and a blue straw hat. She also wore a brown fur coat, and a shouldei’ spray of orange abutilons and maidenhair fern Mrs Hill’s frock was of black georgette, the sleeves being trimmed with pink velvet flowers. A black straw hat black fur coat completed her ensemble. She carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers.

During the wedding breakfast, items were contributed by Miss Elsie Irwin, and Mrs Hubener, and Messrs A. Rich-

ardson, B. Ostlund and W. Martin. For travelling, the bride wore a brown and biege model frock under a brown tailored coat, a fur stole, and a small toque with an eye-veil. Her accessories were to tone. The beautiful bouquets and shoulder sprays were the gifts of Mr W. Martin, Mataura.
