Balfour Notes

Mrs J. Oates, Invercargill, accompanied by her daughters, Mauva and Margaret, and Messrs J. Hermann and McKenzie, Invercargill, visited Balfour for the official opening of the Balfour lime works.

Mr and Mrs W. T. Titchener, Dunedin, were recent guests at Longridge Hotel, Balfour. Miss H. Caskie, Otautau. and Miss J. McMath, Invercargill, were the guests of Mr and Mra J. H. McMath, Grasslands, recently. Miss M. Moore, Gore, was recently the guest of Miss R. Wilson. Mr and Mrs H. B. Barnett, Toa, visited Balfour for the opening of the lime works. Mr Gardiner and Miss N. Gardiner, Greenhills, visited Balfour for a few days recently. Mrs G. Grant left on Tuesday for Auckland, en route to Sydney to spend a holiday with her daughter, Mrs Rosenblum.

Miss M. Stewart, Glenkennick, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs R. J. Stewart, West Sandstone. Mr and Mrs W. Cassels and family visited Invercargill during the week. Mrs A. Rasmussen and the Misses M.

and K. Rasmussen have returned from Tauranga. . Miss A. Stewart, Dunedin, is spending a holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs R. J. Stewart, Sandstone. Mrs J. H. McMath is spending a short holiday in Invercargill. Mr and Mrs G. Rennie motored to Waikaka, and were the guests of the former's mother for a few days. Miss Lena Rutter was the guest of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr and Mrs A. Beer, Orepuki, recently. Miss S. Cassels is visiting her brother and sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs W. Cassels, the school house. Miss A. McMath is spending a holiday in Dunedin attending the winter school at the Otago University. Mrs A. Liddell left on Friday to attend the winter school conducted by the W.E.A. at Dunedin. Mrs L. George will leave on Monday for Dunedin to attend the winter school at the university of Otago.
