Because of the abatement of the ini fantile paralysis epidemic the schools in Hastings and Dannevirke North and the Te Rehunga schools will reopen on Monday morning, according to advice received this afternoon by the Hawke’s Bay Education Board from the Minister of Education (the Hon. P. Fraser). WARNING BY DOCTOR AUCKLAND, April 23. Three children were admitted to the Auckland Hospital on Thursday suspected of having infantile paralysis. They were diagnosed today as positive cases. There were no fresh admissions to me that in a city like this, once it got a hold it might work havoc,” said an Auckland doctor when discussing the fact that there were now eight positive cases in the Auckland Hospital and four suspects. “My view is, that, having so many cases on hand, the authorities should take time by the forelock and prevent children from congregating.”
