JAPANESE FISHING INDUSTRY
TOKYO, April 22. Japanese trawlers of an aggregate tonnage of 22,500 tons . operating mostly in Australian and other foreign waters last year record a catch valued at 6,727,000 yen which is 341,000 yen below 1935. Meanwhile exports of tinned sardines from January to March total 47,000 cases or 45 per cent, above 1936, severely competing with the Can- | adian trade.
