“PILLAR OF WORLD PEACE”
CLAIMS FOR THE SOVIET (Received April 23, 9.15 p.m.) WASHINGTON, April 23. The Russian Ambassador, M. Troyanovsky, in an address claimed that the Soviet was one of the pillars of world peace. He said: “When the struggle between imperfect democracy and perfect fascism comes we will be ready to throw all our influence on the side of democracy.” He praised the Spanish people for fighting to save democracy. He termed the Trotsky trial in Mexico as a flop and said the mountain had given birth to a mouse.
