ANTI-SEMITISM IN POLAND
JEWS BANNED FROM PUBLIC LIFE NO MEMBERSHIP OF GOVERNMENT (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received April 23, 11.30 p.m.) WARSAW, April 23. Poland’s 3,500,000 Jews are virtually banned from public life by an official decree forbidding them to join the new Totalitarian Government -Party, the only party permitted in Poland. Prominent Jews declare the ban means that for the first time in Polish history Jews have been officially branded as racially inferior, “even those who have fought for Polish independence. Jews must therefore unite in selfdefence. Many thousands of Jews haa applied for membership in the new party.
