STAMP EXCHANGE
AIR MAIL STAMPS Cousin John O’Kane, Alexandra, would like some Air Mail Stamps. He also has foreign stamps for exchange. TO STAMP COLLECTORS I will continue with general hints on this interesting hobby. You will all be waiting for the Coronation issue which will be issued in May and will be on sale until December 4. If you wish to avoid mistakes at first do not jump too quickly to conclusions. Do not think that a stamp marked Franco belongs to France. It belongs to Switzerland. Helvetia also stands for Switzerland showing that more than one name for a country can be used. 5. Do not worry about the value of the stamp. It is not the value but the condition. Try to find out what a stamp shows. Let your friends know that you save stamps and you will be surprised at the number of other collectors there are. Change your duplicates with your friends and try to build up sets. You will be surprised at the number of stamps that look the same, but vary in colour, perforation, or thickness of paper. Young collectors should not, at present, worry about this.
