AITKEN’S IMPRESSIVE RECORD Billy Aitken, the clever young Wellington boxer, who meets Young Gildo in the Civic Theatre on Wednesday evening, has an impressive record as a professional. He has fought 14 contests, won 10, drawn 2 and lost 2. He has defeated P. Hawes twice (points), F. Taylor (knock out, three rounds), W. McKay (knock out, two rounds), W.

McKay (points), C. Rayner (points), C. Rayner (knock out, two rounds, for featherweight title), C. Buckley (points) and J. Jarvis, lightweight champion of New Zealand, twice (points). He drew with C. Rayner and J. Hall (Australia) and lost to C. Rayner, twice (points). Young Gildo is 24 years of age, and has been fighting as a professional for six years. In Australia in 1931 he had 40 contests with only nine losses. He knocked out Herb Bishop, former lightweight champion, in seven rounds; Billy McAllister, bantamweight champion, in seven rounds; Billy Tyson in seven rounds; Bobby Frazer in three rounds; Tommy Doble in three rounds and beat Merv Blandon, the clever Australian bantamweight, on points. Returning to Manila in 1933, he knocked out the bantamweight champion, Young Dumargelles, in 11 rounds, beat Joe Velasco, the featherweight champion, on points and defeated Pablo Dano on points.
