INVERCARGILL BRANCH The monthly meeting of the executive of the Invercargill.. Red- Cross Society was held recently. Mrs J. G. Petrie presided over Mesdames A. Hanan, A. Gray and Miss M. A. Hunter. Several applications for assistance were dealt with. The women reported having visited the Southland hospital weekly, where at present there were six soldier patients. The committee had received several letters of thanks from grateful soldiers who received assistance. Complimentary tickets were supplied to soldier patients by the Southland Boxing Association and the secretary was instructed to write to the association, expressing the committee’s appreciation.
