The importance of the Waikato as a pig raising district was emphasized at the first April sale at Morrinsville, when 1400 pigs were penned. This was a record, the highest previous entry at a sale being 1270 pigs.
The discovery has been made in Paeroa of parasites at work against white butterflies. So far as can be ascertained, no liberation of the parasite has been made in or near the district, and it is concluded that the insect has spread by natural means.
