AMALGAMATION OF LOCAL BODIES
SUGGESTION BY MR PARRY (United Press Association) HAWERA, April 22. The Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry) addressed the district County Councils on the amalgamation of local bodies. He suggested the merger of five South Taranaki counties, with possibly a sixth, to form one controlling body. Nothing definite was reached and the scheme will be further discussed at. a conference of the local bodies concerned.
