HEAVY ENTRIES AGAIN (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, April 21. Heavy entries were again the rule at Addington today, although they were not as large as thosb of last week. Good breeding ewes sold at an advance on last week, two tooths making up to 38/6, sound mouthed to .27/-, forward wethers to 25/- and ewe lambs to 29/6. Old ewes sold more freely, with no change in values. Fat Lambs.—An entry of 2300 sold at a shade more than export values. Fat Sheep.—About 6000 were penned and there was a strong sale for good wethers and ewes and an improved sale for export ewes. Best wethers made from 30/- to 34/-, good 27/- to 29/-, best ewes from 22/- to 25/-, good 19/— to 21/6 and inferior down to 15/-. Fat Cattle.—There were 5000 penned and there was a weakening for all classes, except a small showing of prime steers. Outstanding drafts of bullocks averaged from £l2 to £l3 10/-, in one case to £l4 3/-, but, except for a few heifers, other cattle were down by 10/- a head. Best heifers made from £7 10/- to £9 10/-, and best cows from £6 10/ e-to £lO, and inferior from £4 to £5. , Fat Pigs.—There was a slightly improved market. Porkers made from 38/6 to 50/6, average price a lb 53d to 6Jd; and baconers from 49/6 to £4 1/6, average price a lb sjd to 6d.
