Tomatoes have been very backward this season because of the weather, and the position is being felt in Dunedin, which derives its chief supply from Canterbury and Central Otago. In the Hutt Valley, also, large areas of tomatoes are still very green, and supplies will continue to come to hand much later than usual. Prices secured up to the present have been payable to growers, but tomatoes at a reasonable price are fairly scarce
