PRINCESS ELIZABETH’S 11th BIRTHDAY
GIFT FROM DUKE OF WINDSOR (Received April 21, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 20. Gifts from all the members of the Royal Family, including the Duke of Windsor, arrived at Windsor Castle on Princess Elizabeth’s 11th birthday.Thev include a saddle and a riding crop from the Queen and a white pony from the King. The Princess was hostess at a birthday tea party, which was attended by her parents, Princess Margaret, Queen Mary, the Duke and Duchess of Kent and Prince Edward of Kent. PUBLIC MEMORIAL TO GEORGE V • LONDON, April 20. Crowds watched the King drive to Wellington Barracks, where he unveiled the first public memorial to King George V, completing the mosaic decoration in the Guards’ Chapel. The fund was subscribed to by all ranks, past and present, of the Brigade of Guards. Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present at the ceremony, which was most simple.
