SHARE-HAWKING IN BRITAIN
GOVERNMENT WARNS COUNTRY (Received April 20, 7.20 p.m.) LONDON, April 19. The Government is circulating millions of leaflets warning the country against the activities of “share-pushers.” It is estimated that at least £5,000,000 is lost each year by gullible people. A committee under the chairmanship of Sir Archibald Bodkin, a former Director of Public Prosecutions, is reviewing the methods employed in the frauds and will’recommend additional safeguards.
