A junior game between Nightcaps and Western Star was also played. Western Star was faster in its movements and combined better than Nightcaps, which is a young and keen team. The scores were: Western Star 8, Nightcaps 3. Mr Allan Grant was the referee. BOWLS The Nightcaps Club has closed its green for the season and top-dressing operations are now being carried out. During the afternoon two presentations were made. The Rev. C. Robinson, who is leaving for Otautau, was presented with a small token from the club. Mr Excell, president, in making the presentation, extended the club’s best wishes to Mr Robinson, who suitably replied. Mr J. Lysaght, who has been unfailing in his attention to the green during the season, was presented with a pair of bowling shoes by the women’s club.
