MR L. B. HUTTON
APPOINTMENT IN WELLINGTON (United' Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 5. The appointment of Mr L. B. Hutton as assistant general manager of the Wellington City Corporation Tramways and Electricity Department at a salary of £lOOO a year was announced at tonight’s meeting of the City Council. Mr Hutton has been chief engineer for the Southland Electric Power Board (now the Power Supply Authority) since 1926. He was educated at King’s College, Auckland, and at Canterbury University College, where he graduated bachelor of engineering. He joined the professional staff of the Public works Department at Christchurch and subsequently went to Hamilton on hydroelectric work. Mr Hutton served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force from 1914 till 1919, attaining the rank of Captain and being awarded the Military Cross.
