The constant movement of an area of land at Pahikikura, a country district abdUt 20 miles out from Hunterville, was brought to the notice of a reporter who recently visited that area. Many years ago a huge hill slipped and a block of land sank about 30 feet, shifting the road away several hundred yards. Since then the land’s surface has been continually changing; fences have been made several times; trees that were planted in an attempt to prevent slipping have been moved hundreds of yards; and the road, which had to be remade, is continually changing, and is now full of hairpin bends.
