WOMEN’S DIVISION

RIMU BRANCH At the monthly meeting of the Rimu branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, held in the hall, the president, Mrs Cameron, presided over 16 members. The roll call was: “Why I go to the division meetings.” The folio wing are the prize-winners for most points for the year: Monthly flower competition: Miss M. Emerson 1, Mrs J. Little 2, Mrs H. Bulling 3. Sewing and baking competition: Mrs Carswell 1, Mrs T. Curry 2, Miss M. Emerson 3. During the afternoon a presentation was made to Mrs C. Bulling. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs C. S. Bulling; secretary, Mrs H. Barnett; auditor, Mr C. S. Bulling; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. Shand, D. Todd and A. C. Carswell; committee, president, secretary, vice-presidents and Mesdames J. Cameron and W. Emerson; appointed to visit the sick, Mesdames H. Bulling and J. Cameron; in charge of competitions, Mrs W. Curry; social committee, Miss M. Emerson, Mesdames IL Barnett and W. Curry. A vote of thanks was accorded the retiring president and secretary. Arrangements are being made for the birthday which is to be held in June and the birthday cake is being made by two members, Mesdames W. Emerson and A. Carswell. The results of the competitions were: Best bloom: Mrs W. Emerson 1, Mrs J. Little 2. Three Afghans: Mrs Emerson 1, Miss M. Emerson 2. Three carrots: Miss M. Emerson 1, Mrs Broomhall 2. The hostesses were Mesdames W. and T. J. Curry.
