OPIUM SEIZED AT NEW YORK
CARGO FROM SHANGHAI (Received March 7, 6.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 6. Opium valued at 300,000 dollars was seized in one of the largest Customs raids, 600 tins being removed from the freighter Taybank on its arrival from Shanghai. Seven men were arrested. The officials declare that they have finally succeeded in breaking up an important international smuggling ring.
