Hand embroidery as trimming on frocks has come to life again this year. Many dresses are richly embroidered with beads sequins, gold thread or silk braid. Sometimes, too, they are quilted so that the material rather resembles cloque. Some frocks are dotted with sequins, while others have embroidery on the sleeves, at the neck or at the bottom of the skirt. This not only applies to formal evening gowns but specially to simple party dresses. One model deserves special mention: it features a short circular skirt and a jacket with narrow sleeves, adorned with sequin circles. Finally, we have illustrated a suit of black wool-crepe with a jacket heavily embroidered in gold.
