Although the train was not due for 20 minutes, a man rapped impatiently on the closed shutter of the booking office. The shutter shot up suddenly and a face appeared. The man banged down a half-crown. “Hyde,” he said. “Seek,” snapped the clerk, slamming down the shutter.
