Taxi Committee Of Inquiry (United Press Association.) Hastings, November 13. “We have obtained very full evidence. It is up to us now to do our best, and we hope we will for all concerned,” said Mr P. M. Butler, chairman of the Government Committee of Inquiry into the taxi and town carrying business, at the conclusion of the sitting at Hastings to-day. Mr Butler said that the taking of outside evidence was now concluded, Hastings being the last of the outside districts where hearings had to be taken. He expressed the appreciation of himself and his colleagues of the manner in which owners and employees had co-operated in placinr facts about the industry before the committee. “On our return to Wellington after our report has been prepared it will be forwarded to the Minister and thence to the Government,” he said.
