FOUR LIVES LOST IN SMALL BLAZE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Naples, October 19. Earlier alarming possibilities arising from an S.O.S. from the Italian luxury liner Vulcania that a fire had broken out on board have just been allayed. It was a small affair in the steerage, and was quickly extinguished. The Vulcania was 40 miles from Naples, and was bound for New York. It was revealed later that the fire involved the loss of four lives. Two stewards were suffocated while fighting the blaze, and a third was asphyxiated when fumes penetrated the bathroom. The fourth victim was a musician in the ship’s orchestra, who became panic-stricken and fell overboard.
